Material is the deciding factor. Vinyl and faux leather give the shine that creates the whole effect of the character, but they don’t breathe and warp with heat. Wash by hand only, never in the machine and dry flat: a vinyl bodysuit put through the dryer is ruined.
Check whether the mask is included. It’s what makes the character recognizable; without a mask or ears, a black bodysuit is just a black bodysuit. On lingerie-style models it’s generally included, but not always.
Then look at how open the piece is. Many models on this theme are open-crotch bodysuits, which makes them suited to strictly private use. If you’re looking for something wearable at a costume party, go for a fully closed one-piece.
One size is common and doesn’t work well on non-stretch materials. Look for a mention of elastane or fishnet, which genuinely widens the range of body shapes it fits.
